The Rose and Thistle Bed & Breakfast is located in the Highland Heart of Nova Scotia; home of the Antigonish Highland Games which are the longest running games outside of Scotland. The Rose and Thistle is a modern new West-Coast style home built to take advantage of the magnificent panoramic view surrounding Antigonish Harbour. Daytripping around Antigonish

Sherbrooke Village Loop

Leaving the coastal communities of the Sunrise Trail this Loop takes you across country to the Eastern shore. From Highway 104 at Exit 32 you will travel Route 7 through picturesque rolling farmland and beautiful lake shores. On your way, stop at the Ohio turnoff and take a little time to watch the eagles' fish in the shallow waters of Gaspereaux Lake. On entering Sherbrooke follow the signs to the historic Sherbrooke Village Museum. Plan to spend about 3 hours at this wonderful living history museum where special demonstrations are featured throughout the village.

Fairmount was originally known as Hallowell Grant and was farmed by many early Scottish settlers. In 1892 the name was changed to Fairmount because of the beautiful views of the countryside.
